Astral projection is a term used in esotericism, to describe an intentional “Out Of Body Experience” (OBE), that assumes the existence of a soul called an “astral body” is seperate from the physical body and capable of traveling outside of it throughout the entire universe.
Robert A Monroe also known as Bob Monroe (October 30 1915 – March 17 1995) was a radio broadcasting executive who became known for his research about altered states of consciousness and was also the founder of Monroe Institute. According to Monroe, while experimenting with sleep-learning in 1958, he experienced an unusual phenomenon, which he described as sensations of paralysis and vibrations accompanied by a bright light that appeared to be shining on him from a shallow angle. He recorded his first experience in his book “Journeys out of the body” in 1971.

He also claimed that this so-called OBE happened again another nine times over the period of six weeks. After becomming a prominent researcher in the field of human consciousness, he authored two more books “Far Journeys” in 1985 and “Ultimate Journey” in 1994, both based on his own out of body experiences. Monroe then registered two patents concerning audio techniques designed to stimulate brain functions until both hemispheres of the brain became completely synchronized. This process was refered to as” Hemi-Sync”. He also indicated that this technique was created to synchronize the left and right hemispheres of the brain, thereby creating a frequency following response designed to evoke certain effects.
You are probably thinking so why didn’t he just use binaural beats? Binaural beats are known as standing waves and seeing as we have the ability to distract ourselves, it is impossible to maintain the standing wave. Hemi-sync is an extremely powerful technology created to specifically explore one’s mind power.
Theosophical believe concerning Astral projection is that one may also access a compendium of mystical knowledge called the akashic records. In many accounts the experiencer correlates the astral world with the world of dreams. Some even reported seeing other dreamers. People who meditate are more likely to have metaphysical experiences as they open their minds up to the true nature of our multi-dimentional universe, and helping us to realize just how limiting our conscious awareness is during waking hours. True astral projection requires a certain mastery of mind, which cannot be accomplished without meditation.

Lucid Dreaming

Lucid dreams are mainly described as having the ability to become consciously aware of the fact that you are dreaming. -“A concise guide to awakening in your dreams and in your life” -Dr Stephen Laberge
Many different theories have emerged as a result of scientific research on this subject and Further development in psychological research have pointed to ways in which this form of dreaming may be utilized as a form of sleep therapy.
According to an article in Newsdaily – Lucid Dreaming therapy holds great potential as a treatment for people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and also those who suffer from chronic nightmares, and is also used to enhance motorskills and performance of individuals such as medical practicioners, musicians and athletes, by simply setting the intention and by visualizing, using mental imagery.
Prominant figures from ancient to modern times have always been fascinated by this phenomena and have sought ways to better understand it’s meaning and purpose.

Experts believe that lucid dreams are linked to higher activity in the Prefrontal Cortex of the brain, as research confirmed an increase in gamma brainwaves, all completely synchronized and fired by groups of neurons, while observing a group of volunteer candidates during their stages of lucidity.
Apart from it’s amaizing benifits, it is decribed as an incredible, euphoric type of journey where the limits are simply based on your own imagination and the best part is, you gain an incredible amount of control over your dream environment and the characters involved.
Recent surveys indicate that roughly 55% of adults have experienced atleast one lucid dream during their lifetime, and a further 23% claim to have expierenced lucidity atleast once per month. Lucid dreams are known to being more common during REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep, about 90min after falling asleep.
Wake Induced Lucid Dreaming (WILD Method)
This method enables the dreamer to enter a lucid dream directly from the waking state. An article by “Corrosion Doctors”, describes this technique as very useful and popular, where an individual becomes totally aware of the transition from wakefullness to dream state. This method was also coined by Dr Stephen Laberge –The most recorded lucid dreams are usually “dream initiated”, stemming from an ordinary dream.
Follow these steps:
Wake yourself up after 4-6 hours of sleep, get out of bed and stay up for anywhere between a few minutes, to an hour before going back to bed. It is preferable that you do something related to lucid dreaming during this time.
Go back to bed and lie absolutely still, as if your body is melting into the matress and losing all sensations. Silence your inner monologue if it starts to chime in. You may hear hypnagogic sounds, echoes of voices and other sounds in your head.
Once in the half-dream-state, you will experience hypnogogia as a mixture of patterns and colours that take over your vision in the darkness completely. Observe your hypnogogia and stay relaxed, allowing it to hypnotize you and to draw your awareness away from the outside world, into the internal dream world that is starting to evolve.
This next step is probably the hardest part, but if you are in the right state of mind, it can be deceptively easy to achieve.
Since your consciousness are still linked to your physical body, which is now asleep, you may feel the effects of sleep paralysis. This is a natural protection mechanism, which stops you from acting out your dreams. It happens everynight, but usually by this stage your mind is already fast asleep. If you feel your limbs going numb or experience a sensation of a lead blanket moving up your body, dont fight it. Simply try to relax and rejoyce in the fact that you are about to enter a waked induced lucid dream state.
The dream scene is usually created out of your memory of your bedroom or wherever it is you are currently sleeping. Sometimes you can also send your awareness to another dream version of your own bed.
Wake-Back-To-Bed Method (WBTB)
Before going to bed, set your alarm to wake yourself up after 4-5hours of sleep. When the alarm goes off, get out of bed and do something that requires mental effort such as reading a book or writing in a journal.
Lay down again and relax. Try to visualize something that you would like to dream about. You often wont be sure when exactly you cross from being awake to being asleep, but if you are visualizing something you want to dream about, the transition can be made consciously and while maintaining the ability to control your dream.

Greetings! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site? I’m getting sick and tired of WordPress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
